Heck. How I agree.
It's funny how things that you want to work perfectly never seem to go your way. I have a pimple outbreak, weight explosion, brain overload and I look terribly awful now that I'm afraid to go on camera. Hitting Heidelberg in 2 days or so, and hell, I'm a gigantic mess.
It's not like I enjoy being a damn mess. I'm not that organized.
If my room was like that, WOW. Unfortunately It's not.
The fuzzy logic rice cooker I had brought went kaput on me. I switched it on, put my pot inside... and the strange thing was that it was heating up, just that... the water never seemed to boil, no matter how long the time inside was. Until I did a bit of online scooping.. and found out that the thermistor inside it had short-circuited, and caused the logic levels to go haywire. It's a nice way of saying I had it blown up.
So right now, I have a few diversions of path in my head
1) I buy an induction plate with a pot.
2) I attempt to fix the rice cooker by using my rather limited resources
3) I give up and bring my pot to the kitchen.
4) I buy a sandwich maker
hmm... all allows me to cook. Cause I need to, and I stocked up the fridge with quite a bit of food. First things first, get rid of all the preservatives that's giving me pimple outbreaks.
That means.. the instant noodles have to go, the packets of milo, the thin honey waffles, the large bag of taokayneo seaweed, the packet of wasabi peas.. I need to get rid of them. and resume buying fresh food, of course.
And there's the cooking part. I tried the sandwich maker last night, and ended up with a grill in my own room. Although I tried to use as relatively little oil as possible, the aftermaths of the grill are still there and I ended up wiping down everything before going to sleep.
So no 4 isn't a good idea. Let's review the list again

3) I give up and bring my pot to the kitchen.
4) I buy a sandwich maker
I tried to fix the rice cooker myself. AND followed the instructions on this website. I borrowed a screwdriver, unscrewed the base and saw the wiring inside for myself. Unfortunately, the live wire feels sticky, and that means that it was burnt. Wire had 2 layers of insulation, one made of nylon and the other plastic. What happened was that the plastic insulation had burnt and melted into the nylon one. Eww.
True mark of an engineering student. When something goes wrong, turn the back and unscrew it to see what the problem is. That was my favourite activity as a kid, just that I didn't know what was what and it was just a whole mess of wire. Now I know what's inside it.
At least the little plastic bowl with a cover made a pretty good container, So i can at least use something.
And I didn't bring my multimeter or any of my tools with me. Guess it didn't occur. So then
1) I buy an induction plate with a pot.

3) I give up and bring my pot to the kitchen.
4) I buy a sandwich maker
I know very well that I will need to buy a pot. But about the induction cooker? I'm still considering. My daily budget is €10, and it is transferrable to the next day. So in that case, I have €35 to spend on, including tomorrow. I think I'm gonna go ahead and buy the cooker, and give up eating from the mensa unless I didn't cook lunch in advance.
And I am to take control of what I eat, yes? I don't want to eat junk.
By the time I return I will end up cooking for my whole house. Fair trade-off.
