Darmstadt - 153

I guess this will be the final blog post for this trip.

Looking back, I wondered how I managed to get through it all. It's like growing up overnight, and there were plenty of things I had to get through on my own.

It has been a ride, and I am thankful for time for letting me see those who truly matter and for those who joined along the way, to help me grow and re-emerge as a person once more again. This phase of life is over, and the songs I carry with me at the end of each phase seem to grow, and grow and venture towards to the strange..

Finally I found this song

And I remember it all once again..

Darmstadt - 152

It's much too close.

I have done what I needed to do. The end is in sight, and yet I am in no hurry to see it to the end.

There is a song I hear once again, in a very long while, they call it "Clair De Lune"...

Darmstadt - 151

I have my certification.

I now have a certification in A2 german.

I don't have much time left.

Darmstadt -150

It's Wednesday again.

My last german lesson is tomorrow. I know I've passed, I will get my certification. Now it's just getting past the fact that I may not see my classmates ever again.

Life's too short for things like that.

It has been getting very warm lately as well...

Darmstadt - 149

I think Winter's over.

1. It's been raining alot lately.
2. It's not that cold anymore
3. I'm sweating excessively again.

Yup I think it's over. About time as well.

I want it all - queen

Last Monday. Give it my all. Give everything that I have, give it all. The final stretch begins now.

5 more days

Darmstadt - 147

It's Sunday again.

Sundays are strange affairs in Germany. Entire town is shut down and everyone seems to disappear, just like Singapore on Chinese New Year.

Having the town board up once a week has been really good training. I'm not taking the extended  opening hours of shops in Singapore for granted, for the shops won't always be open when I want them to.

Shopping on Sunday has never been this effective.

Darmstadt - 146

Last Saturday, and I am not going anywhere!

What a waste of time, but it appears that I have no choice as well.

Darmstadt - 145

Today is Friday.

One last friday and I'm outta here.

Darmstadt - 144

Well, the test is over.

I'm not confident at all:/ It's having everything happening all together at the same time, and i feel quite disoriented and juggling with so many things.

But this is a call for me to pack my German books into the luggage and perhaps return the textbooks and workbooks...

I'll mail out the big box in the morning tomorrow. I hope I still can carry it down. One week left. How time flies...

Darmstadt - 143

I have totally given up the "ideal lifestyle" I wanted to have.

I only ask for 3 times when I live in the future
1. To be able to have tomatoes and yogurt everyday.
2. To be able to have direct access to water. Never mind if it isn't the cleanest, that's what boiling/filtering is for.
3. To be able to have undisturbed sleep.

That's all I require. A lack of Internet just makes me look for entertainment off line. It ain't the end. That's the reason why the post office still exists.

We can still look for the beauty in life without the Internet. With it, we become unoblivious in its presence.

One more day to the test. Hope I will do well.

Darmstadt - 142

One more lesson to the test.

Hope everything will be fine.

And after I pack all my things together, and still hope everything will be fine.

Must get a box for my things tomorrow morning. Start mailing them out soon. I don't want to lug a whole load of things back.

Darmstadt - 141

Monday.

I leave in less than 2 weeks. *gasp*.

One thing at a time
  • write report
  • build presentation slides
  • make arrangements to move out fridge, stove
  • make arrangements to mail things home first
  • arrangement for finances
  • arrangements for accommodation for next friday
  • pack up belongings and books
  • make donations of clothes and some everyday items
  • finish all that food in the fridge.
  • Prevent sudden outbreak and weight gain.
Riight. One thing at a time. And to bear in mind I have a german test on Thursday, and everything seems just fine.

Now where was I again?

Darmstadt - 140

2nd day of frenzied writing.

And the odd episode of 3rd rock every now and then. Someone please tell me why I've stopped watching the show.

Weather is turning cold again, snow's back on the streets, icicles hang everywhere, and people are starting to freak out for being in a "supposed" snowstorm.

Oh please. Life goes on right? Even if there is a frightful chill, and you realise it's not that frightful, cause it's all in the mind.

Exaggeration is something we can do without. Tell the truth as it is, plain and simple. After a while exaggeration gets boring.

Walked out to the bridge over the railway tracks today. It's normally bustling, but no one actually stands on the bridge and watch the trains.

If I stood at the overhead bridge outside my house for 10 minutes, there will people calling the cops to report suspicious behavior.

It's time to leave soon. Better start packing.

Darmstadt - 139

I didn't do any of that. Admittedly I'm too lazy/really skipped that part.

I thought the school was open. Packed up my belongings, stuffed it into the backpack, packed food as well, and I thought everything was gonna go my way for a change.

Until I reached the front door, and realized that it was locked. Walked around the school, and they didn't seem to have free empty benches around, unlike Ngee Ann. Most of the doors are locked in, and the library was packed.

In the end I used my room. Everything seems good for now, just I have a report to type, exercises to write.. so much to do. RAWR!

Darmstadt - 138

It's snowing again in Germany. After 3 weeks of mild weather, snow befalls on us all once again. Nice present though. Other than a ton of forms to fill up and procedures to follow, we get snow. Hopefully this time it stays until we head back.

This whole trip is starting to draw to a close. Right now I'm trying to figure out which places to visit again, and some part is screaming at me for the awful photographs that I have. Either I'm getting better or worse, but I can't tell sometimes. Every city is different and charming in their own way, and it is ridiculous to say which is better when they are unique.

I don't have much time left. Enjoy whatever time I have left. And stop with the Caravan Palace

How long have I found them and not shared for enjoyment><

Darmstadt - 137

I have exactly one week to the test.

Just let me get through everything else that I need to do. I'm happy that way

Wednesday, 16 January 2013

Darmstadt - 136

When bravery and boldness is the last thing you have right now, it doesn't hurt to watch a cartoon.

How I need this. Onward!
Just for the next 10 days, last through it and I will be fine. I hope.

Darmstadt - 135

One more week to the German test. Why does everything that I write seem to be wrong?

This happened before. Before the test I am screwing up in every way possible, and during the test I shock them all. Something like the calm before the storm.

Why can't life be normal for me?? One week before the test. I must keep calm.

WHY DIDN'T I BUY THE POSTCARD?

I should have got myself one of these as a poster. Then to stick it on my wall at home. I seem to losing the calm mantra. Oh mi gosh.

Maybe staring at this will help. Then again, we can never be sure...

Darmstadt - 134

Isn't it the very irony we live with?

Last night certainly was an experience on a German train. My train was diverted to another town on the way to the next destination. Sat my seat with a table(I was lucky), started to do my long overdue origami.

I've taken trains more times I can count, and this was the first time something like that happened to me. I used to meet with train delays at the platforms, trains splitting at a particular town, trains that travel along being particularly empty (I love those), but that was the first time.

I reached back one hour later than expected, but I'm alright. I used to set to return at about 6pm on a Sunday so I can relax and unwind.

After a few trips I realized I didn't need that at all. Essentially when I came back early, I spent my time staring at the screen, not really relaxing.

Anyway it will be a long time before I can do this again. May the wishing come true.
