Watched this show today. 19th century England, when they were starting construction of the tube. Where men wore button shirts and matching bowler hats, women dresses that sweep the floor. And impeccable English.
The show takes time to build up to the exciting/critical parts, but the slower parts are dabbled with humor to hold on to the interest. The slow-motion fight scenes are well choreographed, with the focus drawn to the attack. Sometimes the fights do get out of hand, and others with Holmes predicting their next move.
There is, however, many things happening at the same time, and film puts Holmes in the spotlight, and we see him doing his job, but gathering of evidence takes place somewhat discreetly. We don't know about it until towards the end, when Holmes efforts are revealed, and some of his little actions that we don't pay attention to are actually decoys to his investigation.
It feels like the 2nd one. With a new mystery and villain, that's all.
