Darmstadt-7

City tour of Zurich today. Do I like Zurich?

Well

Erm

Not really the young people living in there,
Arrived in the city late last night. First shock when getting of was that a partying driver was driving his car across the road. And nearly rammed into us. Drinking parties whenever we walked. Feels like coller quay on a Saturday night. Groups of teenagers sitting around for a few bottles and having a smoke.

That reminds me. People here smoke. They smoke a lot. They smoke so much that they are cigarette dispensers on the street that look like vending machines. Just select your packet, pay up and you're done.

I met a photographer who was staying in the hostel as well, he showed me to a hilltop park where I can take photos. Daybreak and sunrise time is about the same as Singapore, but a few days ago daybreak was really early.

But the sunrise was amazing. It's not constricted or blocked by large buildings. Strangely the buildings are kept at a good height and not stretching too high.

Zürich is next to a lake, and legend says you can drink of the water fountains because the water is so fresh. Now I can tell you it's true. It's the same kind of water you pay for $1++ because it says fresh water from the swiss alps. In Switzerland you can just drink the water for free, just like that from the fountains. And it's not some tourist thing. The locals to do it as well.

In fact, the people who buy water from the shops are the real tourists. When it comes to the debate about the best quality tap water, Switzerland could certainly rival Singapore.

The photos are on facebook~ including the one of the dead bird. I'm thinking of uploading a select few on the web and the rest on the blog. Hm.
